ABOUT

Who we work for

UNIVERSITIES

Universities have extensive resources in people, equipment and ideas. However they also have many, often conflicting, priorities and thinly stretched resources for commercialising their potential. Furthermore, they can lack an understanding of the perspective and needs of founders, investors and organisations that they work with.

The Review’s author, Professor Dame Ann Dowling, President of the Royal Academy of Engineers, makes no fewer than 32 recommendations. Key amongst them is a call to remove ‘excessive complexity’ from the innovation support system and to encourage the use of intermediaries to work across the university-business interface. This assists SMEs, in particular, but also the universities with clearer relationships and opportunities for collaboratively funded programmes highlighted in the recently published Dowling Review.Click to visit site

As an independent broker, Badger Projects helps Universities by applying our services to bridge this divide. We understand the needs and pressures on universities and can ensure that projects move forward to the benefit of all.

FOUNDERS

So, you have a great idea and want to set up your own company? Many founders are very familiar with their technology and its potential applications but are not so sure how to build a company from it. There are many organisations offering advice, but Badger Projects does much more than that. We work alongside founders and add experience and skills to their team, but fully understand the ownership that founders feel for their creative ideas.  Through our association with the Bessemer Society , we have extensive contacts amongst early-stage entrepreneurs like you and know the challenges and obstacles that you will face.  We work with entrepreneurs of all types and at many stages from concept development through to board positions of growing companies.  So, whether it is a business plan, an IP strategy or access to funding that you need, we do the legwork needed and work with you to get the job done and to help build your company.

Badger Projects can be adaptable and flexible to your situation, and there are many ways of funding our work. We are always open to a discussion.

INVESTORS

Every idea or business opportunity is presented to look its best. There is a whole industry in teaching budding entrepreneurs how to pitch to investors, who then need to filter multiple opportunities, solutions, teams and plans and find the golden nuggets.

As an independent broker, Badger Projects works with investors to do the background analysis needed to validate or challenge founders and their plans. We can delve into IP, markets or competition and provide clear advice or questions.

We also work alongside founders, universities and others on behalf of investors to refine opportunities and develop good ideas to their full potential, both before and after initial funding.

The Gartner hype cycle is as valid as ever and we aim to ensure that investors are fully informed on where their opportunity is in the cycle as well as to help companies move through any troughs as quickly and efficiently as possible.
